Goodwood Home Farm on the Goodwood Estate has been supplying food to the Dukes of Richmond for over 300 years. It has 3,400 acres of organically managed farm land and is the largest lowland organic farm in Europe that is completely self-sustaining. Organic food produced and sold on the Estate includes milk, dairy products (including soft and hard cheeses), beef, lamb, pork, ham and award winning sausages, bacon and burgers. As well as supplying the rest of the Estate and Events (eg Festival of Speed), our milk is sold directly to customers in London, Brighton and locally.
We have a requirement for a Senior Food Processing Operative / Technician to be part of our dairy team based at Goodwood Home Farm. Duties will include supporting and monitoring the bottling process, testing milk quality, technical fault finding, supporting the cheesemaker from time to time and standing in for the Supervisor and Manager. You would be joining at an exciting time with plans to expand the dairy, giving you scope for taking on greater responsibility.
Whilst relevant food experience and training is desirable, you may be a skilled technician with a passion for, or interest in organic food. Training will be given. You will be enthusiastic, flexible, keen to learn with a strong eye for detail. This position will be working as part of a team on allocated shifts which currently is Sunday – Thursday. 7am – 3.30pm including 30 minutes for lunch.
